2012 Has Begun To Show Signs Of Truly The Worst Year In World History

A couple of years ago, we began to hear rumors of dooms day in 2012. All kinds of dooms. Perhaps the most deadly, yet erroneous, the interpretation of the Mayan calendar of the end of time on December 21, 2012. Scholars of the Mayan people and traditions denied that, saying it was rather the end of the Mayan calendar. Yet many did inject the idea that there would be such a calamitous occurrence as to completely cause the end of this world as has yet been known. Others have proclaimed that the Holy Bible has shown where it is now time for the destruction of the universe.

I have found none of these to have any merit whatsoever. First of all, the Mayans might have been great and wonderful people, I don’t question that, but there is no reason to believe they had any source of information not readily known today. In fact to create a calendar which would have an end to it seems rather ridiculous. And I do know that all of the literal hundreds of predictions of the end of the world, have failed miserably and they began at least as the first century B.C. Yet, people continue to profess to have figured out, or have been told by God, when to expect Jesus’ return, when the Bible explicitly points out that no one knows that except the heavenly Father.

The thing of concern now is mankind. If man finally destroys life on this earth as we have known it, it will not be because of any of the above prognoses. Man was created by God and he was an unruly animal from the beginning. Arrogant, hateful and disobedient. There have been some truly good humans but the number pales beside the number of those who are

mean, sorry and caring only for self.

There have been times in certain areas where people lived peacefully for quite some period of time. There are still some who do, but out of the 7 billion+ who now inhabit the earth, those who still live peacefully together and with the world, are almost totally lacking. That is mainly because the rest of the world will not tolerate such among themselves.

Try now to think of how few nations you can name today which are not undergoing riots and disorder. Even here in the U.S. we have those who have nothing on their mind except to demonstrate and cause troubles. None of them know exactly what they expect to accomplish. Fortunately, for them, our police are harnessed by strict laws, otherwise, most of them would be dead by now. Britain is swamped with rioting and uprisings. Even Moscow estimated over 200,000 braved frigid cold the other day, in protest of the upcoming election. Some for Putin, some against him.

After almost a year of interference by the U.S., the U.N. and the E.U., trying to install the governments they wanted to rule in many of the Asian countries, they finally have to stay out of one, Syria, because Russia and China balked and vetoed the attempt to intervene. That was a foolish move on the part China and Russia, but they swing enough influence that no one in the U.N. wants to call their bluff.

And worse than all of that, we have the Iranian regime which is calling everyone’s bluff and is about to, perhaps ignite the worst scenario possible. They refuse to stop their efforts to develop nuclear weapons and delivery systems for them. Israel, tiny Israel, within firing range of them have been forewarned by Mahmoud Ahmadinejad that they will be blown off the map. Israel would like to live in peace, but instead they are surrounded by enemies who wish them all dead and intend to destroy themselves if that is what it takes, to eradicate Israel.

Israel, known worldwide for their dedication to their homeland and for their tenacity when forced into a fight, will never concede. They like to remember their forefather David who beat the giant, Goliath, by embedding a stone in his forehead. It boils down to two groups with opposite goals and neither have any intention of altering their decision. What makes this situation so hazardous is the fact that Israel is presently capable of putting a stop to Iran’s nuclear ambitions. Only with deep concern have they yielded to outside pressure not to take such a step so far. But with the deadline for them holding the upper hand is swiftly drawing near. Israel believes without question that once Iran has a nuclear capability, they will destroy little Israel. What would you do? Many would cut and run. Israel does not run.

They are no doubt, the best informed of the current situation in Iran and even to the precise time when they will become capable of devastating them. Many other experts say this will be very soon, and still others fear that Israel will be unable to wait out this year. So, if Israel acts unilaterally and knocks out Iran’s nuclear facilities, what happens? The U.S. must take a stand. NATO must take a stand.

Iran is a Muslim nation. Virtually all the Asian nations are Muslim, even if not under Sharia Law, still sympathetic towards all Islamic countries. Russia and China, having formed a loose bond concerning Syria, may indeed form an even tighter bond and become a formidable enemy.

Think for yourself. I cannot see any good solution in the offing. But then, I tend to lean towards pessimism.

I have written a couple of previous articles along this same subject. You may care to read them.

Joel,

I was trying to think of a time when there were no conflicts. I can't. First the danger was a wild animal, then it was a warring tribe, then it was a crusader, then it was a mugger. I suppose we just have to try to have peace within ourselves as each person may be, unto them, the only one to depend on for their own future of contentment.

Thanks for the comment, Ron. You are correct. There have always been conflicts, but I don't think I've seen a time when so many were worldwide. I personally am at peace, but I do worry about the future generations, even the younger ones at present. I just don't see a change for the better. My tour is about over.

I agree. It is hard to see how there is not going to be a military conflict between Israel and Iran this year and who knows what the consequences of that will be? One thing we can probably be certain of is that we have no idea what high gas prices are now. I would have no idea how many dollars a gallon of gas will be once that conflict starts but that it will have a major impact on our economy there can be little doubt. $4 a gallon gas will look cheap before the year is over if you and I are right about this coming conflict.

Well put Joel. Israel can't run even if they could...where to! I hope that someone in Iran comes to their senses and stops their nuclear plans. There will also be the fear that if they go nuclear they will give terrorists dirty bombs or other nuclear bombs to use against us. Doesn't look good--I smell gunpowder in the air.

Thanks Steve, you are right. If Russia and China don't tone down their attachment to Iran, big trouble is probably going to happen. It's the oil.
