Electronic Sex Possible by 2030: No Chance of Venereal Disease

I usually don’t write about such things, but this one has various implications and connotations which need to be faced, preferably ahead of time.

A British futurologist, Ian Pearson, believes that by 2030, sexual partners will be unnecessary to enjoy the pleasantries of sex. This idea will no doubt encounter many advocates as well as many who oppose the entire idea. Frankly, I’m of the latter. There are some side issues which give the thing merit but I believe there are far more reasons to oppose it than to promote it.

Dr. Pearson believes that microchips can be installed on or under the skin which will record the pleasing sensations experienced in ordinary sexual acts and can then be replayed at any time one wishes. Other pleasing sensations may also be captured and replayed, such as that of an unusually pleasant and warm handshake or hug.

Furthermore, he believes that a chip may become installed on the brain which can create these sexual sensations by pressing a key on one’s computer which will wirelessly send signals to activate the chip. He also believes this will enable one to record both partners sensations and can experience them both by playing them back.

Now, all of this is not simply science fiction. Dr. Pearson is nobody’s fool. He served on the British parliament from 1994 to 2010. So, it is highly likely that such a microchip may very well be invented and produced in the next couple of decades, or sooner. But let’s consider the implications.

First of all, the sex act is supposed to be and of a certainty is, the warm union of love between the opposite sex which cannot be as pleasant and satisfying any other way. It was instilled in humans as well as lower animals as a means of procreation as well as a bonding between husband and wife.

The theory behind the chip is to provide sexual satisfaction without the love and affection of a partner, and rather falls into the same category as masturbation. And it is assured, as far as I can see, that should this become commonplace, the general public will be exposed to frequent nerds who have pressed their key.

For those who are Christians, there are definitely questions of morality, although I do not know just what, offhand.

On the up side though, it might lower the population growth rate considerably and might also help eliminate many instances of venereal disease, although I strongly doubt that this would replace the urge of most to have a sexual partner.

Think on these things.

Joel,

I love your topics! This was a beaut! No I didn't know about this but I'm not surprised. Some of the science fiction we've seen in the past is no longer science fiction.

Great article. Thanks.

Yes, I thought when I found the articles listed it was some kind of joke. But it isn't. I dislike writing such articles but I thought people really ought to know what it is coming. I think it is somewhat ridiculous. Thanks for the comment, Nancy.

Thanks for tackling such a problem. When I saw the title I almost 'rolled on floor laughing', and then I realized the seriousness of it's Biblical implications. Thank God, we don't have to think about it until 2030.

Thanks for the comment elle. The first article I found on this was in the Russian Pravda news and they are pretty well known for their stretching things, but after I Googled the title, I found several more articles on it.

If this latest gadget proves to be good, my guess is, demand more than supply, Joel. I would be the first one to place an order. Like Rick said, quick, before we die.lol.

Great article !

I believe it will have to be strictly regulated due to the dangers involved. Suppose the surgeon who installs one for you, has his own and for some reason, it is activated while he has his scalpel drawn back. I appreciate your comment Hilda.

Where there is danger involved in the process as you said, cannot trust the surgeon for the installation, I might as well drop the whole thing then. Sometimes nothing is too good to be good. Be natural is good enough. hahaha
