Why Do So Many Hate Tim Tebow, Star Quarterback For Denver Broncos

Timothy “Tim” Richard Tebow was born August 14, 1987 in Makati City, the Philippines to Pamela Pemberton Tebow, daughter of a U.S. Army colonel, and Robert Ramsey Tebow, a preacher, who were serving as Christian Baptist missionaries at that time.

Fast forward to the beginning of his football career. He played football for Nease High School in Florida. His prowess began to attract attention of college and professional football teams when in his Junior year at Nease he was named Florida’s Player of the Year, he repeated that feat again in his senior year. During his senior season he led the Nease Panthers to a state title, earned All-State honors, was named Florida's Mr. Football and a Parade magazine high school All-American. Tebow finished his high school career with 9,810 passing yards, 3,186 rushing yards, 95 passing touchdowns and 62 rushing touchdowns!

His record of accomplishments are far too lengthy to enumerate them all but let us check the ones which might seem the greatest. First of all, he has not been caught in any type of lawlessness, no fighting, no female accusations, no dog or rooster fighting. He is ultra clean. No DUIs, no speeding tickets, no drug or drinking incidents. He is a Christian and tries to live an exemplary life as such. He bows on one knee and says a short prayer after his teem gains a score. He prays before each game. Now with all this said, we’ll proceed with his accomplishments as a football quarterback.

He won the Heisman Trophy in 2007 while quarterback with the Florida Gators. Four years ago, Florida lost to Ole Miss and Tebow made a promise then that no one would work harder than he to see that this never happened again. Florida then lost no more games while he was quarterback and won the national championship.

This current season, the Broncos have lost 5 games, won 7, 5 of which have been in a row with this week’s win over the Vikings. They consider his throwing method to appear awkward but it does get results, which they all have to admit.

The entire problem is that so many people cannot stand for one to be successful while giving credit to Jesus Christ and God. On media interviews, he is very polite and tries to give credit to his team rather than himself. No one has been able to justly criticize his demeanor, and this with his handsome appearance, 6 ft., 3 in. height and 245 pounds of solid muscle, he still maintains his humble nature. Some people explain that you either love him or you hate him. It is a sad day when anyone is hated for no reason other than their active devotion to the lord and saviour, Jesus Christ.

An article by Anthony Cook, Managing Editor for the Anniston Star, Anniston, Alabama reports that one interviewer unexpectedly asked Tebow if he were still a virgin, to which he answered unabashedly in the affirmative. And still another sports commentator refused to allow his co-host to mention Tebow’s name on their show. And there is a Facebook page entitled “I hate Tim Tebow” which has been “liked” by over 1,000. And Cook adds in parenthesis (Be advised: It is laced with profanity)

All of us who share this society with such people should bow our heads in shame. The very idea of hating someone because they try to be a good citizen and who trusts in Jesus Christ is inexcusable. It shows the lack of decency as those for instance, who see a policeman pass, and they hate him. They don’t know him, yet they hate him.

I don’t know Tim Tebow personally, but I would consider it an honor to meet him.

Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! (Isaiah 5:20 KJV)

Christians were warned of being hated for their love of Jesus, by Jesus himself.

Turn the other cheek, baby.

Thanks, Joel--I'm a Bronco fan and a Friend.

Amen....Tim's christianity is what they don't understand. Jesus said "because they hate me they will hate you." Sad, they don't know what they are missing.

I have been a Bronco Fan since 1980. He has brought life to the city, and the smiling team mates don't mind endorsing him. He is a special person and everyone knows it. The Secular mindset amongst athletes and media just gets plainly POed.
