What The World Needs Is Probably Not What It Will Get

The world is now in the most horrendous condition that could be imagined, and was surely not expected. It is not the first time however. The biblical examples are many of what occurs with man when they are left on their own. They have invariably become immoral, evil and lacking in respect for their fellow man. God’s laws, his covenants with man at various times, have always been such that would have given them prosperity, peace and contentment if all had lived according to his instructions.

For the first 1650 years after the creation, men were not divided into nations which fought other nations. The turmoil and evil that originated within them, was basically immorality. But there is little doubt that there were other evils such as killing, thieving and greed. About all that is revealed is that their minds were “evil continually”.

“And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.” (Genesis 6:5 KJV)

Of the entire population, there were only 8 souls who were righteous in the sight of God. So He cleansed the earth of these sinful people with a global flood. This is the only time God has intervened in such a drastic manner to punish those who are disobedient to Him. As the eight people began to replenish the earth, they divided into tribes and clans and spread out far and wide. Since then, there has been much evil in the earth, but God has used divers methods to punish his people.

After he chose the descendents of Abraham through Isaac and Jacob to be His people to furnish the lineage to Jesus the messiah, He made a new covenant with those people and promised them they would prosper and be protected from their enemies, and enjoy the good life with good health under his watch care. They failed time after time to follow his instructions and each time he allowed their crops to fail, they fell victim to pestilence and harassed by insects and wild beasts. There were many who died by the sword as their enemies overran them.

Whenever they realized how horrible their life had become, they would repent and pray to God to forgive them and save them. And this He did time after time, until they strayed so far from Him that He allowed them to be overrun and become subjected to other powers.

After Jesus birth and His church (the spiritual kingdom) was established, they were persecuted from the beginning, Many of these were tested for their loyalty to Him. But His promise as given in the book of revelation strengthened them.

Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life. (Revelation 2:10 KJV)

There have since been some faithful over the years, but far more have been unfaithful. Many millions have rejected Him completely and many others have professed to accept Him, but only on their conditions, not His. His covenant does not work that way. We must accept Him on His terms.

Over the past few centuries as the world population has grown and prospered through technical advances and many other things that God has given us, we have grown farther and farther away from Him. Our mode of worship has to be entertaining and fun for ourselves, rather than as prescribed by God for humble and thankful submission unto Him. We have commercialized His religion in many cases and have discovered it to be a lucrative business. Many of His professed servants who are vowed to take the gospel message to the world, will only consider doing so in exchange for much financial gain.

What the world needs is an humble and sincere return to apostolic Christianity, a revival patterned after the life of Jesus Christ. If this should happen, I am confident that we would yet see a prosperous and wonderful place for one to raise their children. But, it is my regretful opinion that this will not be forth coming.

Instead our country, the European Union and the United Nations will continue to interfere in the internal affairs of those Islamic nations until a world wide blood bath will become a reality. Perhaps some of the countries are oppressive with their people. We are not God. We should use any influence we can to help them, but to intervene in these internal uprisings, and taking the side of the rioters over the government, even when we have not the slightest idea what type government will be formed under them, is folly to the nth degree. What we have succeeded in doing thus far is to become a bitter enemy to both the current governments as well as those who are attempting to overthrow them.

As of yesterday, November 27, it was announced that Pakistan has cut off transport of supplies to U.S. Troops through their country. Pakistan is a hostile nation but has furnished us with immeasurable help in fighting the al Qaeda. They also have nuclear weapons with which they are capable of an unimaginable escalation of the present hostilities in the middle east.

The current powers that exist cannot contain the problems we have, or at least assuredly will not. The U.S., which is swiftly losing it’s position as a world leader, does not have the power or the will to make demands world wide. Nations are no longer frightened by our wrath. And certainly the sorry excuse for leadership in the United Nations can do nothing more than try to tax the world.

God is the only means whereby we can regain peace and prosperity, and He is likely no longer on our side.

Thank you Hilda, for your comment. I have no idea how we can understand the world. I was not always a pessimist, but now I see little light ahead. I worry about my children and their children. I have little to worry about myself because about all I have left is to die.

Hmmm....don't simply say the word "die" Joel.

As a Chinese, we almost say anything that goes with the word "die" but I think we have said it too much already.

Wish you live long enough to enjoy what is left.

God loves you !!

The world needs what would happen if the call of our hearts was fulfilled MARANATHA. And it will certainly be sooner rather than later,eh? Only then will we know what GOOD government is all about and a world without war or starving or physical needs.... impossible to believe there will still be some who will rebel.... I should write a piece, eh? BUT busy, busy, busy getting my devotional ready to be published - we are on the count down now and it will not be long!

Blessings, Joel.

The world has come so far and regressed so far and history should teach us valuable lessons but history is not teaching us much of anything. First of all, I think there are way too many people on this earth now. I've seen enough shows and read enough studies of animals when they feel cornered, outclassed in some way, etc. They feel trapped, or stressed or endangered and, ultimately, the go wild and hostile and rebellious. Terrible results happen - I think that's also what is happening to people. All of the vices like power, jealousy, greed, envy, and all the others are the rule. Things are breaking down. I don't know too many people who are truthful any more at any level. Look at what's going on with the trusted adults such as priests and coaches to mention an even further breakdown. God will have enough and send a final lesson. I'm not sure I want to see it. Being an eternal optimist, I wish that people would wise up. Elect responsible and truthful leaders and teach their own children to live right. Sorry, I get on my soap box. This is a fine article with excellent points and a discussion of note!
