The “Global-Warming” Debate Is Now Resolved…Or Not?

I had decided to forget about the global warming nonsense until recently when the lid blew off the jar. The rhetoric had died way down, after the release of numerous emails showing where the grant beneficiaries had falsified their reports on the extent of global warming about two years ago.
But, last month at the end of October, Professor Richard Muller, of Berkeley University in California, and his colleagues from the Berkeley Earth Surface Temperatures project team (BEST), released a statement, along with a chart, showing where the earth has warmed almost a degree centigrade since 1950 and continues to warm to this day. Their chart shows a marked increase in temperatures since approximately 1960 to the year 2000. Here is a quote from the article United Kingdom’s DailyMail of October 30, 2011.
World Newspapers jumped into the fray. Here are some headlines of some of the most notable international papers:
The world is warming and the sceptics are wrong: (The U.K. Guardian-October 21, 2011)
Global Warming ‘Confirmed’ by Independent Study: (BBC News Online-October 21,2011)
Climate Change-The heat is on: (The Economist-October 22, 2011)
Ex-climate sceptic now backs global warming: (The Independent-October 22, 2011)
The sky is falling, the sky is falling: (Al Gore--- NO, Just kidding JHH)
But now, Professor Judith Curry, a leading member of the BEST team refutes the statements issued by Professor Muller. She says that Muller is trying to mislead the public by hiding the fact that BEST’s research shows global warming has stopped.
Prof Judith Curry, who chairs the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at America’s prestigious Georgia Institute of Technology, said that Prof Muller’s claim that he has proven global warming sceptics wrong was also a ‘huge mistake’, with no scientific basis.
Prof Curry is a distinguished climate researcher with more than 30 years experience and the second named co-author of the BEST project’s four research papers. (DailyMail, October 30, 2011)
Professor Curry added that in fact, the project’s research data show there has been no increase in world temperatures since the end of the Nineties – a fact confirmed by a new analysis that The Mail on Sunday has obtained. And it was also noted that the CO2 had continued to rise during this level temperature period. Strong evidence that CO2 is not the cause of climate change.
We also learn that there has been a new release of emails (On Tuesday, November 22, 2011) larger than the first batch some two years ago. The University of East Anglia states that they believe these emails were stolen at the same time the first batch was and had been held onto until now. No one has yet reported on what these may or may not contain.
The action taken by Professor Muller should be criminal. He denies any wrongdoing and admits that their data does show a leveling off over the past decade or more but he personally does not feel that is significant. If he felt this was insignificant, why then did he not report it with his otherwise misleading data. These false statement and false figures found in the previous emails, should be punishable. These falsified reports not only cause a significant amount of concern to the public, but they have caused a considerable amount of expenditures to be made in studies to find ways to help a non-existent problem.
The implications are many and great. It has caused expense and shortage of fossil fuels which are, undoubtedly not causing the climate change. We could add many thousands of jobs and save many billions of dollars if we would only become self efficient with our energy supplies
