The Perry-Romney Race is Close But The Texan Stands Much Taller

The advent and massive growth of the “Tea Party Movement” coupled with the massive yet unsuccessful spending spree. Also, the attempt by government to take over the national health care industry and usurp states rights, assist and encourage abortion as well as homosexuality and restrict freedom of the Christian religion and much more, has caused much reaction.
We have this time, one of the front runners who has flopped more than he has flipped and puts John Kerry to shame in his efforts. Mitt Romney, perhaps his biggest headache is Romneycare which he refuses to disavow, and although the president stated his healthcare package was patterned by the Massachusetts plan. Romney promises to repeal the current national health care law and which is so disliked nationwide. But that is only a tiny part of his questionable stands on major issues.
His liberalism has long been known in the more conservative circles and in 2005, he was ranked number 8 (in the top ten) RINO (Republicans in name only) by the editors of Human Events.
And there was ample reason for that and there has been much since. Here is the quote taken from the Human Events ranking:
(Romney) Has said, “I believe that abortion should be safe and legal in this country.” Supports civil unions and stringent gun laws. After visiting Houston, he criticized the city’s aesthetics, saying, “This is what happens when you don’t have zoning.” (Click Here)
That one statement should remove him from the ranks of conservatives. Of course, I realize that one can change their minds about some things but when these changes occur in reaction to Tea Partiers…It becomes flip-flopping, nothing less. That statement was less than 6 years ago. Earlier that same year another source printed this statement:
In February 2005, The American Spectator observed of Romney, "He is pro-choice and, aside from the marriage debate, generally in agreement with gay-rights advocates." (American Spectator, 2/23/2005)
And even after his so-called pro-life “conversion” here is a statement of special note:
Unforced by anyone, Romney overruled his own Commissioner of Public Health and lied about state law in order to compel Catholic hospitals to issue abortifacient pills -- in violation of their freedom of religion enshrined in the United States and Massachusetts Constitutions. Using exactly the crafty political theatre he employed to cover his actions on same-sex "marriage" and homosexual adoption, Romney posed as defender of the very thing he was destroying, gallantly "asking" the legislature to create a special "religious exemption" for Catholic institutions. Even Democrat former governor Mike Dukakis publicly agreed with Romney's commissioner of public health that state law already grants a "religious exemption." (Warning Letter Massiveresistance.org-Jan.2008)
As Selwyn Duke rightly wrote in 2007, Romney is the Barack Obama of the GOP. Every Republican has made his share of mistakes, but Romney is a committed liberal on the whole spectrum of issues. (Mitt Romney: A Liberal’s Liberal Republican-The American Thinker July 2011)
Conservatives know that Romney was pro-abortion for a long time before he first ran for the presidency in 2007, at which time he "changed his position" because he was now asking for the votes of conservatives. Romney has also supported "gay rights," and as Massachusetts governor, he implemented same-sex marriage by executive fiat. In 2004, the MA Supreme Court ruled that the state's marriage law was unconstitutional -- but the Court did not rule, contrary to what is claimed, that gay marriage must be legalized and that the state constitution contains a "right" to marry. Yet, as soon as the ruling was issued, Romney commanded state agencies, by executive order, to start issuing marriage licenses to homosexual couples. (Ibid)
The latter quotes from American Thinker is from a fairly extensive article and I suggest that those who still have questions concerning Romney’s “I was for it before I was against it” please read the entire article HERE.
Another short but explicit article entitled: Why Romney Should Not Be President Click Here.
Although we will not attempt to clarify those things concerning Rick Perry, he is a true conservative and does not hesitate to acknowledge his stand and his record. There is little comparison between him and Mitt Romney. With the nation in it’s present depleted condition, we need change in direction, not just change in party name.
