Twelve (!) Things That Save A Christian From His/Her Sins

Yes, it is true the bible tells us of 12 (at least…maybe more) things that it takes to save us from our sins. That kindly puts a strait on someone who says we are saved by faith only. Or anything else…only. So, how many of these things does it take, one of them? Two? More? Actually it takes every one of these twelve things to receive remission of our sins. Just look at the facts and tell me why not.

1. God:“For to this end we both labor and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of those who believe.” (1 Timothy 4:10 NKJV)

2. Jesus: “And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.” (Matthew 1:21 NKJV)

3. Jesus‘ Life: “For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.” (Romans 5:10 NKJV)

4. Jesus’ Blood: “Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him” (Romans 5:9 NKJV)

5. The Gospel: “Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you--unless you believed in vain.” (1 Corinthians 15:1-2 NKJV)

6. Grace & 7. Faith: “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:” (Ephesians 2:8 NKJV)

8. Hope: “For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees?” (Romans 8:24 NKJV)

9. Words: “…who will tell you words by which you and all your household will be saved” (Acts 11:14 NKJV)

10. Baptism: “There is also an antitype which now saves us--baptism (not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ” (1 Peter 3:21 NKJV)

11: Ourselves: “And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.” (Acts 2:40 KJV)

12: Righteous Works: “Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.” (James 2:24 KJV)

Now read them carefully and decide which of those do not count. But beware…each one is written by the inspiration of God and none are just whistling Dixie. I do realize that some of them are almost identical. Jesus and God. Jesus was God in the flesh, but no matter the bible lists them separately and says we are saved by them. All of these things are true. There are other things which are required also and so they are part and parcel of our salvation. Repentance, confession that Jesus is the Son of God, and more. To put a lot into one word, obedience is necessary and saves us which is what is meant in number 12.
