Are Space Aliens Threatening Us Because Of Our CO2 Emissions?

Although most of their feeble excuses have now been blown to smithereens, those scientists whose big monies depended upon grants for the CO2 research now have a new and more daunting “IF” in their portfolio. Al Gore has nothing new except he angers easier.
But an article in the UK Guardian gives us this frightening(?) supposition:
This highly speculative scenario is one of several described by a Nasa-affiliated scientist and colleagues at Pennsylvania State University that, while considered unlikely, they say could play out were humans and alien life to make contact at some point in the future. (Ibid)
Some of those scientists admit that it may not be the most compelling reason to reduce our greenhouse gases but it is an added possibility. Wow!
One Shawn Domagal-Goldman, PhD in astrobiology and his associates have compiled a list of plausible outcomes from an encounter with a group of ET’s. They classify those as harmful, beneficial or neutral. (They have PhD’s).
They list a number of possibly beneficial aspects which might be the result of a superior knowledge people, or advancements in medical research, etc. And then again, perhaps no good or ill might be the result.
But in the harmful category, their imagination was given full rein and they did come up with some doozies. Here is one more quote from the UK article that should send shivers up our spines.
"A preemptive strike would be particularly likely in the early phases of our expansion because a civilisation may become increasingly difficult to destroy as it continues to expand. Humanity may just now be entering the period in which its rapid civilisational expansion could be detected by an ETI because our expansion is changing the composition of the Earth's atmosphere, via greenhouse gas emissions," the report states. (Ibid)
Now let’s look one more time at our CO2 emissions. In the past 50 years, the CO2 content in our atmosphere has increased from 0.032% to 0.039%. No look at that figure. In 50 years, we have increased our CO2 content by 7 thousands of one percent! It would take .993 more parts to equal one percent. Water vapor at the surface has from 1 to 4 percent average.
I know of no one who is opposed to working diligently to clean up our air from pollutants. CO2 is not a pollutant. I doubt seriously that ET and his people are coming hunting us for endangering them. He seemed like a nice fellow when he was here. I don’t know if he returned the bicycle.

Top-level comments on this article: (1 total)Has anyone ever thought that maybe we are causing imbalance in our Universe. Does anyone even care??? They should as we are polluting our atmosphere which decreases breathable oxygen.
We may be attracting the attention of other beings on other worlds not stupid aliens. We continue to pollute our world with garbage, bacteria and decay its no wonder we are attracting attention here because when a world becomes so filthy it causes imbalance in a Universe.
Are we this ignorant to balance when nature keeps balance.
Its up to our governments to have eyes to see this with considering we are controlled by them. Because its getting ridiculous that we humans insist on living in our own filth.
