According to articles in several European newspapers, a Pakistani man, resident of Faisalabad, shot an killed his six daughters. Arif Mubashir, called his family to his room and shot the six girls in from the rest of the family, including their mother, Mussarat his wife.
After the incident, Mussarat called and notified the police. Police then took Arif into custody and filed charges against him according to Tandlianwala Police Inspector Javed Sial.
It is unclear what the laws are concerning this type killing in Pakistan, but sources report that it is definitely against the law. Yet, Pakistan has been known for years to be one of the most intolerant towards their women within Muslim countries. In June 2010, the Thompson Reuters Foundation ranked Pakistan as the world’s third most dangerous country for women
Inspector Sial told newsmen that the incident with Mubashir started when one of his sons reported to his father that two of the daughters, Sameena, 14, and Razia, 16, were in a “relationship” with some college boys in the area. Apparently, this was the only accusation made and no details as to what extent this “relationship” was carried. And even more senseless, the fact that the four other girls seemingly, had nothing whatsoever against them.
Mubashir also told police that he shot them, because both of them were “without honour” and went on to say: “I should have been told immediately but the girls sided with each other. They were both corrupt,”
According to British minister Sayeeda Warsi, Pakistan is failing to live up to one of the tenets of Islam which guarantees rights to all women, as posted in a report in The Guardian on Thursday.

It happens in America as well but you rarely read about it because our papers are so one-sided. Your last paragraph surprised me. I had no idea that the tenets of Islam guarantee rights to all women. When did that happen?
Hi Nancy, thanks for reading and the comment. I only wrote what the woman said. I'm with you on it, I never heard anyone make such a statement. If it is true, there are lots who pay no attention of such.
