If anyone ever cares to read constant criticism toward the U.S., simply pull up the English version of the Russian Pravda.ru. Their propaganda is so obvious and present in almost everyone of their articles, it is little wonder the Russian people look down on the Americans. And the above title shows one which is probably written with nothing in mind than to put the nation down. But in reading it, I have to acknowledge that the majority of the criticism may be justified.
There is little room to criticize our law enforcement agencies, because it is apparent that they are doing an outstanding job in tracking down and prosecuting those engaged in drug trafficking. But the task is unending. It seems to be self-replicating. But the forces south of us who are behind the massive influx of drugs are gigantic in size, ruthless in their activities and determined to sustain them. And, they are wise in the ways of influencing others. Following are the first two paragraphs in the Pravda article:
(FBI photo release. Truck load of drugs confiscated)
The exacerbated increase of violence in countries like Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Jamaica and Venezuela, has to do with changes in the circulation routes of drug trafficking. The violence rate in the first two countries is greater than that recorded when faced with situations of civil war.
Organized crime, according to The Economist, is primarily responsible for this staggering increase in crime. Central America is a bridge between Colombia and Mexico, the two fundamental axes of drug trafficking on the continent, leading into the biggest market for drugs in the world - the U.S.A. This is the fundamental reason for the true inducer of drug trafficking, with all the tragedies that it implies. (If the U.S. Put an end to drug use: Pravda. ru-January 26, 2011)
It is uncertain if the affirmations in the above paragraphs are true, but there is little question that the drug producers and traffickers south of our own border are extremely numerous, determined and ruthless. The vast amount of drugs entering the U.S. is astonishing. But, there would be little success for them if only our people could be convinced, one way or another to stop using those illegal drugs. We need to strengthen the teaching of our youth, increase the efforts to close our border from this traffic, and adopt more strenuous punishment for offenders.
The Pravda article on to criticize the fact that the U.S. Measured Initiative Program gives 84% of it’s total allocation of resources to combat drug trafficking to the government of Mexico while other, even poorer nations, are also being ravaged by the drug cartels. I cannot say there, whether or not there is any merit to those criticisms. It is far too often that the U.S. allocates funds for a cause which are then diverted to other uses.

Here are more remarks from the article which shows their disdain, without camouflage, for this country.
As the Americans imagined a country without the Mexicans - in an attitude of even bigger incitement to discrimination - we imagine the world without the use of drugs by the U.S.A. A country like Mexico and throughout Central America, would be affected very positively by the weakening of the drug cartels and gangs that proliferate from them.
But the U.S.A., the giant worldwide inducer of the production and trafficking of drugs, as always, diverts from the roots of the problem to other countries, seeking the extradition of traffickers and eradication by means of chemical poisons in large areas where the coca leaf is produced for the consumption of its population, the false solution for the problem. (Ibid)
But like their attitude or not, one has to admit that we probably fit many of their accusations, especially those of being such a huge market for drugs

Well, we aren't winning many congeniality contests these days. And when it is people like Russia, we ought to realize just where our morality has fallen. We are the largest drug market in the world. Thanks for reading and commenting. Daddy
