To better understand the term “abomination” we might check the dictionaries first. It is used in a number of ways, none of them favorable. An incomplete list of synonyms of the noun form is: abhorrence, antipathy, aversion, detestation, hate, hatred, horror, loathing, repellence, repellency, repugnance, repugnancy, repulsion, revulsion.
In the book of Deuteronomy we find the following scriptures:
The graven images of their gods shall ye burn with fire: thou shalt not covet the silver or the gold that is on them, nor take it unto thee, lest thou be snared therein; for it is an abomination to Jehovah thy God. Neither shalt thou bring an abomination into thine house, lest thou be a cursed thing like it: but thou shalt utterly detest it, and thou shalt utterly abhor it; for it is a cursed thing. (Deuteronomy 7:25-26)
Thou shalt not do so unto the LORD thy God: for every abomination to the LORD, which he hateth, have they done unto their gods; for even their sons and their daughters they have burnt in the fire to their gods. (Deuteronomy 12:31)
These three times the word is used in God’s expressing His disdain for the worship of false gods, Idolatry is the most despised and spoken against sin in the entire Bible, by Him. He even devotes the first two of the ten commandments which He gave to Moses, to that end.
(1) You shall have no other gods before me. (2) You shall not make for yourself an idol.
Leviticus 18:6-18 contains an lengthy description of whom one’s family members must not commit incest.
Leviticus 8:22 speaks out against homosexuality: Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.
Deuteronomy 18:9-10 Condemns sacrificing children by fire and other sins: When thou art come into the land which Jehovah thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations. 10There shall not be found with thee any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, one that useth divination, one that practiseth augury, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer,

Thanks again Linda, I do have a problem coming up with these subjects. I try to find something that I feel will arouse some interest. I just search through a lot of sermons and articles and if I come upon a subject which I then not too many will know the details or answer, then I try and find all I can come up with on the subject.
