There seems to have been a number of strange births this past year and some to which I must add a precaution: Don’t try this at home!
On Thursday, December 2, 2010, Aneka (who asked that her last name not be used) gave birth to a boy who weighed 9 pounds and 6 ounces. Not too much there to classify it as weird, however, this was Aneka’s fourth childbirth. Her first daughter was born 9 years ago by cesarean section. After ten hours of difficult labor, the doctor told her that her hips were too small and he would have to do a cesarean. Four years later, she was told she could not deliver her second child normally since she had already had a C-section.
She told reporters that, after 20 hours of labor and then about 4 minutes of pushing, the baby was birthed naturally and without incident. Local newspapers and mailers sent her congratulations. To read the entire story, Click Here.
In Kaliningrad, Russia, a woman reportedly gave birth to quadruplets in 4 minutes, a record at least for the local area. The birth was of two girls and two boys. This information was posted in the Russian Pravda “english.pravda.ru”. dated January 12, 2011. Not verified through any other source.
Another report in the English version of Pravda carried the following account, also unverified:
“Florence, a 35-year-old woman from Africa, gave birth to twins of different colors. Her husband is a white male from Germany. Medics say that there is one chance in a million when children with such distinctive appearance can be born. The woman became the mother for the first time. One child is a dark-skinned and black-haired boy, who was named Leo. His brother has white skin and blue eyes - he was named Ryan.”
According to a report on CBSNews, a northern Illinois couple had twins born in two different years. Ashley Fansler gave birth to Madisen Carin Lewis at 11:59 p.m. on New Year's Eve in Machesney Park, 85 miles northwest of Chicago. Aiden Everette Lewis was born a minute later, at 12 a.m. on New Year's Day.
A report in entrynews.com, Aleksei Shapovalov, 73, from the city of Novokuznetsk, Russia, became a grandfather 103 times. His 103rd granddaughter became the 15th child in the family of the man's sixth son. This record-holding man has 117 descendants: 13 children, 51 granddaughters, 52 grandsons and one great-grandson. Shapovalov says that he has a religious family, that's why they do not use contraceptives. His sons and daughters have 10-15 children each.
Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one's youth. Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them; They shall not be ashamed, But shall speak with their enemies in the gate. (Psalm 127:5-6 NKJV)
