Some Democrat Politicians are waking up, even Harry Reid

As the month of November approaches rapidly, many democratic politicians are becoming even more frantic than they were, and some who have staunchly backed Obama in every mistake he has made, which are myriad, are now breaking away.
Before the election in 2008, Obama made the statement that he would choose the Muslim side if some type of disagreement should occur. I cannot recall what the subject was. But he has now chosen to do that in opposition to the vast majority of Americans. The Muslims have decided to build a mosque within about two blocks of the former twin towers.
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
Those who oppose the building of a mosque, do so because of several factors. One, it is a burial ground. Not nearly all of those known to have died there were ever recovered. In fact only recently, other portions of human remains have been discovered in areas around the site. Also, it bothers many deeply that radical Islamites were the ones who perpetrated the atrocity. They did it, in their own view, in the name of their religion.
Whether or not all members of the Islamic faith feel as they did, makes no difference. Those did, and to have one of their religion's mosque built there would cause many to feel they were only doing so to gloat. And frankly, some are acting as if that is precisely the reason.
Mahmoud al-Zahar, the co-founder and present chief of Hamas in the Gaza strip has said, "We have to build it there." Chuck Shumer, Democratic Senator from New York has not taken sides on the issue but did say that al-Zahar's comments meant nothing since Hamas is a recognized terrorist organization.
CNN Opinion Polls randomly questioned 1,000 American voters and only 29% felt that they should be allowed to build the mosque that near the site of the terrorists attack. If, it has no significance to the Muslims as a site they are proud of, then why do they so insist upon this specific location? If it is a religion of love, as they attempt to convince people it is, why would they not relent for the sake of good will?
President Obama predictably immediately took the side of the Muslims. He said this is America, we do not discriminate against any religion. Even one of his shadows, Harry Reid is opposed to the construction of the mosque in that area. Obama's stand has irritated a number of the congressional Democrats and has convinced many of the independents who were undecided prior to this.
Rasmussen Reports polls show the generic poll concerning voting for a Democrat or a Republican for congress, the largest jump for the Republicans since the 2008 election, showing that voters would choose a Republican over a Democrat 48% to 36%. A twelve point lead which is the biggest lead the Republicans have held in over a decade! This gap widened 7 points over the past week...after the stand taken by Obama.
One writer states that Obama has now locked in a total disaster for the Democratic Party in November. This thinking is primarily what has caused a number of those Democrats, such as Reid, to place some distance between themselves and Obama. With 68% of the public opposing the building of the mosque in that location (over 70% of independents), with 60% of voters in favor of repealing the Obamacare law, and 11 weeks left to mend fences, one can see why Harry Reid has decided to oppose Obama.

Election years seem to bring out a lot more of that. It will be interesting to see the voters choices come November.GraceThank you Grace, for reading and commenting on my article.
