Joran van der Sloot, the prime suspect in the disappearance of Birmingham's Natalee Holloway in 2005, is now awaiting trial for murder in the killing of Stephany Flores.

Shortly after the police discovered the body of Stephany Flores in a Lima, Peru hotel and had instigated an international warrant for his arrest, rumors began that Flores was known to have won money in the casinos and that her father had also given her $1,000 to purchase a new laptop computer. But strangely this was not part of the police disclosures at that time. Her father also spoke to reporters and still, the money subject remained simply as a rumor.

In fact, a Lima newspaper reported van der Sloot's own story that he had caught her looking at private matters he had in his computer, and in his anger, he hit her. This led to more violence and he killed her. Many had concluded that the money story was simply an untruth and not a factor.

Now, CBS News reports the money is indeed a factor. Police sources have reportedly disclosed to them, a story precisely as the rumor had been. That of her having won approximately $10,000 at the casinos and that her father had indeed given her $1,000 for a new laptop computer.

The only thing, no one knows just where the $11,000 is, if it is in fact anywhere. Did van der Sloot take the money from her? If so, where could he have hidden it? On another hand, she supposedly kept her money in the glove compartment of her car. A police search of the car revealed none (?)

According to the CBS article, some sources are now saying this was the reason for the murder and police say, if this is true, then the murder would be premeditated.

Do you think that out of this case he will reveal anything about the Natalee Holloway case?

Hi Steve, thanks for reading and commenting. No, I do not believe he will. He might tell another lie about it to try and make some bargain. The guy is a mental case, I believe, whose every thought is trying to accomplish something in his favor.
