Omnipotent and Omniscient God vs. Ignorant, Weakling, Man

"For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts." (Isaiah 55:9) Man has a tendency to reject this thought and relish in the idea that nothing is more intelligent than himself. But by taking such a stance, he instantly proves the truth and relevance of this quote from the Almighty God.

Over half of the world's population either do not believe in the God of the Bible or else, do not accept His existence as it is taught in His word. They reject some of His truths at best. In stead of accepting his miraculously creating this universe and all that is in it, they accept man's ideas of spontaneous generation, naturalism and evolution, partially or altogether.

I invariably encounter those of the atheist or naturalist persuasion who refer to my beliefs as being unfounded and superstitious. Then when I ask for their proofs of their claims...for instance, the age of the universe since they have changed it a number of times, even though they have no new evidence, but only need extra time for the impossible things they claim to have developed. Their response is that this is what science is all about, they come up with an estimate and then if found to be in error, they move on to fit what new evidence they have. Which is nothing but an admission that they don't have a clue what is correct, but make a guess until they find facts to show it wrong. In the meantime however, it is taught as fact in schools. Most of the population are totally unaware that these "scientific facts" are nothing more than surmisings.

The apostle Paul explains how we can understand this dilemma.

"the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead" (Romans 1:20).

So, what do we have to prove Paul's statement? Literally thousands of examples but let us look at a few.

When a calf or a pig, for instance, is born, no one has to train them or show them where their sustenance is. They automatically know to seek that from their mother and even know the location of it on her body. That is a necessary instinct for the survival of these newborn animals. And it has been that from the first ones on earth. There is no room for years of elimination of all who did not accidentally find that sustenance, nor is it a feature which would be present in a few to pass on to eventually all. To claim such is fantasy.

Then we have the myriad items which are present in certain plants and animals which take no thought process at all. Take the carnivores plants which have automatically controlled closing features which can close and capture insects and then utilize the nutrients from that insect. If this is necessary for the survival for the plant, and it is, what happened to all those before they developed such a technique?

The honey bee is always a good example of virtually anything one desires to study. The beehive is a community, a large family actually, with each family have specific types to carry on their various needed chores. One segment is their nurses. It is the job of the nurses to feed Queen bee and the young larvae. They are different to the other bees. They have special glands in their heads which the other bees do not have. Those glands secrete "milk" which nourishes those whom they are duty bound to feed.

Some of the other bees also have glands which secrete a chemical substance which turns some of the honey into beeswax which is used to construct the honeycomb. These bees cannot alter their glands so that they may change the secretions. And all swarms' of bees have the different ones in the correct ratio. Now if one or two honeybees had evolved from something else, they could not have survived and raised more bees without the necessary glands and the ingrown instinct to handle their particular job.

Butterflies are another good example, not only of their various stages of development, but for their distinctive ability which enables them to feed as they do. Most of what humans see, or notice about a butterfly is it's huge beautiful wings. But, depending upon it's size, it has an elongated body, up to about an inch or more long in the larger ones. And, these butterflies have a very unique tongue, often almost as long as their body. It is rolled up inside it's mouth until they land on a trumpet shaped flower. It can then roll the tongue out, which is in truth, a tiny tubular organ by which they can draw of the minute portions of liquid nutrition. Pity the first ones who had not developed such a tongue, if indeed they were evolved from some other form.

And now we come to the fisher fish. That is correct, we have fish who spend their days fishing. In fact there are several such fish, but one of the best examples is that of the Oceanic Angler-fish (Gigantactus macronema). This species has a line that is approximately 4 times the length of his body, and on the end of it is an enticingly designed bait! Again, why would this have developed, if his ancestors survived without this fishing attachment, why then did it evolve?

The world is a pretty miraculous place to me, also, Joel. If I just think about the fact that a cow eats grass - and it becomes more cow, I'm blown away! I don't need scientific proof. If people want to believe there is no higher creative power of any sort, it's their loss, I think.

Yes, thank you Jennifer,it definitely is their loss. I just hate to see so many who cannotcomprehend the depth of Paul's comment in Romans 1:20 quoted above.

Very interesting article Joel. I always wonder how people can dispute the fact that there is a God. Loved the examples you used to disprove their theory. They will always have a but anyway no matter what they see.
