Creation, Evolution and the Grand Canyon evidences

Evolutionary geologists contend that the Grand Canyon was created over many millions of years by natural erosion. They need it to be so. This is often used as one of their "proofs" that the earth is billions of years old.

Formation of the Grand Canyon took place in two major steps: the deposition of the beds that were later eroded into a gorge-a process lasting considerably more than one billion years-and erosion of the canyon proper, which required not more than 10 million years ( Prof. Ronald Ives-U. of Arizona1988).

Scientists use the assumption which is called "uniformitarianism" meaning that it is assumed that current geological processes basically work at constant and very slow rates. But they have no proof of that and use it because it suits their other assumptions. It is a known and proven fact that natural cataclysms can totally disrupt these processes.

The facts concerning the Grand Canyon, in no way matches the Geologic Time Table postulated by most evolutionary scientists. This geologic time table chart they have devised showing the development of evolution in four major eras, and the top three eras are divided into 12 periods, each showing the graduation or steps of advancement in life forms. But, what they don't tell you, there is no place on the entire earth where this is found. It is simply a "fact" concocted in their evolutionist minds. .

Instead of showing evidence of their assumptions, the Grand Canyon refutes them. Over one third of their assumed sections are missing from the canyon's layers, plus the fact that pine, spruce, hemlock and fir conifer spores have been found in all layers, even in the so called pre-Cambrian Hakatai shale. This is total proof that their theory is not only wrong but absurd. Yet they pass it up as just the materials had become contaminated with recent spores.

Many will recall the volcanic eruption in 1980 of Mount St. Helens in Washington State. This eruption was the equivalent of twenty million tons of TNT. This along with rockslides, waves on Lake Spirit nearby and other such phenomena released comparable energy to that of twenty thousand atomic bombs such as was used at Hiroshima.

In as little as six minutes, one hundred and fifty square miles of forest were totally demolished. In 1986, Geologists reported that new strata had formed at Mount St. Helens since 1980, over six hundred feet thick! Using this as a gauge, of over 100 feet per year, the Grand Canyon strata could have been created in fifty seven years. Not billions.

But even more dramatic, as an aftermath of the Mount St. Helens catastrophic eruption, a mud flow canyon was created in just one day one hundred and forty seven feet deep! Using this as a gauge, the Grand Canyon could have been catastrophically formed in forty days.

A catastrophic world wide flood of the magnitude revealed in the Holy Bible where gigantic eruptions of underground waters as well as the release of all atmospheric accumulations of water could and did form the various groups of phenomena we now see, with fossils of fish embedded in rock on our highest mountains, the mountains themselves as well as the valleys and canyons some forty-five hundred years ago. The eruptions and water continued for forty days and nights. Noah was on the ark for one year before the waters were receded.

Evolutionists would love for everyone to swallow every supposition they make. There are many of them who are highly intelligent but the majority have accepted a theory without any confirming evidence whatsoever, and have spent years forming fantasies as to how their unsubstantiated ideas might have worked.

Whenever some obstacle is discovered, it is completely ignored. A couple of them follow.

In 1954, Dr. Samuel Hubbard, curator of archaeology for the Oakland, California Museum, discovered carvings on the canyon cliff walls in the Havai Supai region, one of which was a Tyrannosaurus. Figure that one out if man did not live in the age of the dinosaurs.

Also, aside from the canyon, in 1946, Dr. Clifford Burdick published an extensive report on a discovery of a human footprint in Cretaceous limestone containing dinosaur foot prints. Evolutionists contended that the footprint had been carved. However, extensive examination and tests showed that it was indeed a footprint. The piece of stone was sawed into cross sections and underneath the impression was more displaced material showing that it could not have been carved. See photos.

Hi Joel, great piece! Of course you know you will be ridiculed but I agree with you completely. Much of their so-called evidence is flawed and yet they hide behind more and more theories instead of accepting the biblical account of creation. There is so much evidence by scientists who are Christians and non-christians who prove the gaping holes in evolutionist theories but people choose not to believe them. Ultimately it comes down to doing everything they can to explain away our Creator. Christians are told they are narrow minded with their heads in the sand not wanting to believe the evolutionary proof, but it works the other way around as well. People don't want to believe the proof of the flaws and holes in evolutinary theories. But for me this is not the where the fight should be. It comes down to the validity of sinful man and the need for a Savior. Because in the end, whether young earth/old earth evolutionist/creationist - if we die in our sin we are forever separated from the One who knows all and it won't really matter will it?

Thanks Teresa for your nice comment. Oh, I'm accustomed to the flames and ridicule...I'm just too old to care. "I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I've committed unto Him against that day". (I can't think of the scripture reference for that right now...but it is in there. :o))

Actually 1 Timothy 1:8-12 'bout sums it up :-)
