Inexplicable Instincts Are Evidences For the Existence of God

Few people realize the many instincts which occur in various species of living organisms. Everyone knows that a human baby is born with an inbred ability to suck. No one has to teach the child. To try and say that early on, some may not have had such instinct and consequently died wont answer the questin. If all instincts had to become totally as they are today by such means as that, one would need to again quadruple the age of the universe. Forget the human instincts and lets examine some unbelievable instincts in lower creatures.
Cattle have been known to stampede because of tiny insects called burrel flies. These flies resemble most other flies, they do not sting, bite or suck blood from the animals, yet cattle flee from them as they would if stung by hornets. These flies do nothing except deposit their larvae on the cattle, or other creatures. The cattle then lick themselves and swallow the larvae which then penetrates the cows flesh and comes out through the skin in boils or abscesses which give the cow misery. The cows may never have seen them before, yet they know to flee and get into water to keep those insects away.
Some people say that aphids are willing benefactors of ants. They have been referred to as ants' cows which the ants milk. This is not true. The ants do indeed gather the secretions produced by the aphids, however, aphids will secrete the same substance if there are no ants anywhere near. So even though they offer a source of feed to the ants, it is not their purpose to do so.
The migration of birds varies from species to species. Pigeons have a highly accurate very long lasting visual memory. But they cannot find their way if blinded. Some other birds have an uncanny ability to chart a path to their desired location even if they have not traveled it before. The may be far removed from their normal point of starting on their journey yet find their way.
In some areas, where honey bees are in the wild and build their honeycomb in hollow trees, men who search for honey can find a specific honey bee gathering nectar from wild flowers or tree blossoms, and by watching the bee as he finishes accumulating his nectar, he will rise and sometimes make a circle or half circle and then fly directly to his home tree. By watching his direction, the honey gatherers can proceed in a straight line and most often are able find the honey tree. The bee, may have flitted about from blossom to blossom, covering considerable territory, yet he knows the exact direction to fly home.
Monarch butterflies migrate to various places for the winter, as far as 2,000 miles in some cases. To such places as Pacific Grove, California. This is so certain that the town has an ordinance protecting them. There are two migratory paths from the northern states which are used and swarms of these beautiful insects extend for miles on their flight.
After semi-hibernating during the winter months, they again fly northward. Their routine has always puzzled those who study them. The same ones never return again, but their progeny, who have never made the trip, repeat their parents performance and trip the next fall. The baffling questions are:
(1) Why do they migrate? They could survive by hibernating where they were.
(2) How could their young , who have not made the trip, nor are they taught or trained, know the places to which their parents had migrated?
(3) How do they possibly find the intended location.? They are often carried by winds far adrift of a straight course, but invariably reach the proper locations.
In South America, this strange phenomena occurs in the same manner only in reverse directions. Even though these colorful creatures travel these long distances, they always try to return to the exact same location where they originated, even to the same bush, to lay their eggs.
Many mysteries exist within the instincts of different creatures. Some amazing ones are;
A pigeon, when returning to it's nest and eggs, cannot find them if they have been moved even two or three inches!
You can remove a bee hive, and put a new one in it's exact spot, and a returning honey bee will accept it and use it as if all is normal. But if you simply move the old one away a few feet .and no other is placed in it's spot, the returning bee will be totally confused and bewildered.
These and many other interesting and peculiar instincts are perplexing to the students who accept nothing other than naturalism. But to those of us who believe in an omniscient and omnipotent God, the answers are easy and clear.

Top-level comments on this article: (1 total)Well written article.No prizes for guessing I disagree with you totally. I must admit that to someone who has not been educated in science and evolution you make perfect sense. However, to the scientist this is riddled with bad science, pseudo-science, no noted research by experts, and shows a huge misunderstanding of biology. I'm not going to go into detail (it will take too long) but I will say that a lot of research has been done in the feild of birth instincts and I would like you to have a look at it.Thanks for reading and commenting Connor, but hey don't have a clue how those things occur. the majority of these item were taken from a book by a man with a Ph.D in medicine but he also did lots of research. He was at least truthful in his findings. Many are not.I have absolutely no confidence in those who espouse evolution from species to species. They have nothing to base it on and they know perfectly well they do not. You fellows who are opposed to my stand call it pseudo science and other ridicule. But if there is so much proof...in fact, any proof of it, why do you not write a full article and lay it out for all to see.Go read my article "The Fossil Record As Evidence For Creation" and see how some few are willing to admit they base their faith on nothing.I intend to write an article on it at some point - I'm currently working on one about the age of the Earth. Furthermore there appears to be enough evidence for the vast majority of the science world. There is only a very minute percentage of "scientists" that refuse to see the evidence. If you would like to see a practically flawless case for evolution I suggest you read "The Greatest show on Earth" by Richard Dawkins.P.S. It is highly unscientific to assert that because you don't know something you can make up your own conclusions based on the watery foundations of religious dogma.There is no proof Connor. The vast majority is not as vast as you imply but nevertheless, they have their own reasons, usually their aversion to submitting to an higher power.I have read some of Dawkins writings and he has never proven one thing to me. I haven't read the book you refer to and don't intend to. If it takes an entire book to prove an unprovable point, I don't have the time.I will read your article though when you write it. You will find that you cannot prove one item, providing you research it deep enough.Well in the mean time I wish you good luck in your efforts to go against some of the greatest minds of all time.
