Robert T. Watson, PhD, in Chemistry from University of London with notable contributions to the scientific community since having that PhD conferred upon him in 1973. He has held a number of impressive positions, including Chairman of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) from 1997 to 2002. He has held other influential positions in environmental programs.
All of these mistakes were readily uncovered simply by checking the sources listed by the 2500 scientists who contributed to the report. Some have referred to these men as the most brilliant the world has to offer. Maybe so, but they jumped at any opportunity to include any drastic measure they heard of, without checking the accuracy of it.
We now also learn that the "fact" of atmospheric warming may not be nearly the fact as first thought. The last assessment of the IPCC said that the global warning was "unequivocal". They warned that the atmosphere had already warmed by .07C and could reach 5C-6C by 2100. But this places them in the same category of those who wrote the report mentioned above. They have received data and acted upon it, which now has become very questionable.
New research, by U.S. and British scientists, reveals that actual global warming may be very slight indeed and that the present method of testing for such is completely unreliable.
A professor of atmospheric science, John Christy, at the University of Alabama at Huntsville, says the temperature records cannot be relied upon. He says that the thousands of weather stations around the world where the data is gathered, have been the victims of urbanization and their surroundings have caused the temperature to be slightly higher, rather than from the atmosphere itself. Many others, especially from Britain agree with him.
In view of all this mounting evidence, Dr. Watson, who has been a strong proponent of catastrophic man-made global warming, thinks that there should be a new science research group, independent of the IPCC, to supplement the work being done by that body. That sounds good, until it turns out that he has been consulting with Al Gore about forming such a group. Criminy!! An ending similar to Alfred Hitchcock's yarns!

Good article. I am glad the Gore's of this world are being exposed and I hope Dr Watson is not allowed to participate in any group of this sort.I agree, It doesn't bother me that some go around yelling the sky is falling, but when they cause nations, virtually none of whom can afford anything right now, to invest billions of their needed funds, to stop the imaginary mess. That is entirely different. Thanks for reading and commenting, Linda.
