Democrats Are Now Worried But Still Refuse To Face Facts

The polls are now showing tough stuff for the Dems this coming year. I've written several articles predicting that very thing now for months and so have many others, but to no avail. The arrogance they have built up by taking over the majority of the House, the Senate and the presidency won't let them see the forest for the trees. I read an article just this morning which revealed that they were now planning to revert back to the old method of kicking George Bush since it worked for them in the previous election

They were successful in that they made the fall of the economy look as if he was solely to blame, even though they had held the majority in Congress for two years. The economy did exceedingly well the first six years of his presidency. Never mind that the base causes for the problem started even before he became president. The two leading characters of the economic collapse still serve in the congress. It is true that Bush failed to correct the problems which were arising but he would have been powerless to do so with the liberal majority.

President Obama has used the majority of 2009 passing the buck, saying he inherited the economic mess, from Bush. He has now inherited the worse mess of his present administration and it is high time that he accept the position he was elected to hold and come up with some corrective measures. I don't believe he will be able to tell anyone that things are now better than under Bush.

The voters have turned against him and the Democratic party. Almost every thing that has been accomplished is something which the majority of voters opposed! What other results could they expect? But instead of backing off or compromising, they continue to forge ahead, while the minority party opposes those things which the voters also oppose and are gaining ground by doing so.

The Dems are trading their souls to gratify those special interests which financed their campaign. The voters voices are being ignored while those of George Soros and his anti-American group, the large corrupt labor unions, and other such money men, are driving them over the proverbial cliff.

Let's look at the previous years accomplishments or lack thereof. First, they claimed the first bailout package was the one by George Bush and his administration. True, it was started under the Bush administration, and I believe Bush was wrong to support it. But, the majority congress could easily have stopped it. Most of the Republicans were against it and polls showed that more people believed the economy would correct itself, if the government did nothing than to bail out those faltering financial institutions. It has almost now been shown that this would have been true. Many of the institutions who had their hands out for a few billion, attempted to get out of it once they learned the government was going to have the rule over them.

Then came the exorbitant stimulus package, the exorbitant spending packages, the throwing money right and left. Now a year later, the economy is unchanged even if they contend that it is better. Ask those unemployed if it is better. Ask those who have lost their homes and those who are now losing their homes if it is better. IF there are indicators that it is beginning to look more favorable, it is very likely that it would have been so, or better, if the government had not interfered at all. But instead, the national debt grew by almost two trillion dollars. Now totaling 12.1 trillion, and is expected to surpass 14 trillion in 2010.

Health and Human Services are currently our largest annual expenditure group. Now notice the figures and consider one minute that we paid out almost 800 billion into the Health and Human Services department. This has alarmed the present administration and they have targeted Medicare as one of their first targets plan to reduce the "waste" in Medicare by 500 billion over 10 years. If it indeed were waste, that would be alright, but waste in the eyes of this administration is treating old people. But, the main irony of this cutting benefits, which incidentally are not nearly all of that massive 800 billion dollar payout for Health and Human services, is that the very next largest expenditure the U.S. has is...guess what...the INTEREST on our national debt.

Last year, 2009, as we paid out almost 800 billion into Health and human Services, we paid slightly over 700 billion in interest on our debt. Followed very closely by our defense spending of slightly under 700 billion. We are searching hard and heavy to find reductions in our Health and Human Services Dept. and our Defense Department expenses. Yet, all the time spending with careless abandon and increasing our debt by trillions of dollars and increasing our annual payout. It is certain, unless drastic changes are soon made, interest on our national dept will be our biggest expenditure and will be so for generations to come. It has to stop. It WILL stop somewhere with tremendous consequences.

Our sources of borrowing are drying up. Some sources have already stopped loaning us funds. China, possibly our largest creditor, is becoming uneasy and may cease to loan to us if our huge annual deficit spending does not improve.

Adding to the difficulties facing the Democrats is the force-feeding the American voters by ramming through congress, bills such as the recent Healthcare Reform bill. Or better explained the "Government healthcare takeover bill", which is highly unfavorable with the voters. Just because they can, and by "buying" votes from their own party members. A voter revolt is taking place swiftly and surely. Even the Republican party stands to go down as well as the Democrats unless some, of one or the other, begins to pay attention to the pulse of the public. We now have eleven months for all manner of moving Chess pieces from place to place. The winners will be the ones who listen to the voices of the voters. Not George Soros and the labor organizations.

Great stuff. Now we get the "jobs" bill. More government spending when all they need to do is cut taxes.

Yes, but they are planning to do the opposite. They learn hard...if at all. Thanks for commenting, Jim.

I agree with you. Your arguement it valid and your facts are accurate. I'm jsut tired of hearing and reading about it lately. I watch Fox News all the time, and it's only depressing. Let's get the vote out in 2010.

Excellent points sir.

In rebuttal to Mr. Schick. You may be tired of hearing this sort of thing, but until our political "masters" (and I use that word loosely) begin to listen, articles of this nature will proliferate. The fact that they aren't listening, and have instead decided to seize control of one sixth of the economy instead, is exactly WHY some of us choose to write on these matters.

that being said, you don't have to give such a low rating, unless you genuinely believe that the quality of writing is poor. I myself, often get poor reviews from those who disagree with my choice of politics, rather than the quality of writing. Personally, I believe Mr. Hendon writes far better and 3 stars, but like much else, that is MY opinion, regarless of content, I try to big my review upon the style, and method, not content.

If the politics bothers you, perhaps you could read Ben Mourish's work. I disagree utterly with his political beliefs, but that doesn't keep me from rating well above 4.5-5.0. he is an excellent writer and thus deserves high markings what ever the content is.

my pleasure sir, I too have had (what I thought) were pretty good articles, only to get hammered by newbies. It's not fun, and kills the average, but then, they know not what they do.

Now, if only I could get as many people to hit my blog as they do my articles!

You're right. I guess I almost never give 5's or 1's. I got in that habit grading tests and giving evaluations. I'm new here and will try to follow the lead.

No, fives are for genuinely outstanding articles...I usually start there and subract for form...but not for content...Ben Mourish is an excellent example, I disagree with him completely, but he does write a d-mn good article, and I evaluate him on that!
