American Voters Political Stance Is Changing Sharply

Election day, November 2008, the exit polls questioned the voters as to where they stood philosophically and the ratio at that time showed 34% considered themselves conservative, 44% moderate and 22% as liberal. This should have been a plain indication that people voted for Barack Obama primarily on his charisma and rhetoric. He himself had indicated he was a moderate individual and that he understood what was wrong with the government with its gridlock and strong partisan stances and that he could work with both sides of the aisle and gain bipartisan cooperation.
One year has now past and a recent poll by Gallup asking voters today essentially the same questions asked in the exit polls a year ago. This time they showed 40 conservative, 36% moderate and 20% liberal. But the strong part of change is within the congress itself. Even though the voting is still highly partisan as seen this past week with the cloture vote being completely partisan, the Democrats are becoming more and more divided due to the outcry of their constituencies. The only way the past two bills were won was by presidential assurances of funds for the dissident's state or district. Now that he has started such procedures, he will find himself being expected to offer pork to more and more. Dirty politics.
Mr. Obama might have gained a little Republican support, had he consulted them instead of rudely bypassing them. But his success with the American voters would still have crumbled. His presidency started similarly to that of Bill Clinton's. Basically the voters liked Bill Clinton because of his mannerisms and good nature, but Hillary, instead of being a First Lady, had a desire to be president and garnered up her own massive health care plan which caused the voters to put her in her place and give the president's party a minority in congress. This mistake by Hillary probably is the reason she is currently Secretary of State rather than Mrs. President.
There are several freshmen Democratic congressmen from moderate to conservative districts who are allowing the arm twisting tactics and the promise of more pork to ignore their constituents. I would not be surprised to see them be one term congressmen as well as the president.

With a Democratic congress and a democratic senate why Obama ever remotely bothers to pander to the predominately racist and rabid Republican side of the aisle is beyond me.Perhaps it's only because the Democrats are at each other's throats.Republicans have long had their chance and all they managed to accomplish was to push America into the economic toilet by neglectful financial deregulationsand to engage usin two losing wars on two fronts.Most of the teabaggers are simply latently upset that Obama is black.They have forgotten that America's long tradition is to always send in a black man to clean up a white man's mess.Paul, I'm ashamed of you. I put down John Kerry and Al Gore just as bad as I do Obama. I would prefer Obama over either of those two.I'm sure you must be in love with abortion, with higher taxes, socialized medicine, runaway deficit spending, lies and what have you. So far that is all you have gotten from this administration. And all any of you can do is whine about what the last Republican did. Obama was going to straighten out this mess. It is far worse than it was and getting worse. You'll see in 2010. We lived far better for the past eight years than we have this one. And the Democrats have now had control of congress for 3 years. Bush could run nothing over them. There was no big problem with the economy in 2006.The problem is that you cannot let the Deomcrats have control of the executive and legislative branches. We even sent some of our prisoners to other countries to extract some info. If you kill some youngster for nothing more than sex...you lose your right to life as far as I am concerned. What excuse to you have for killing an innocent baby?America is the only country with its Bill of Rights;as torture never gets truthful answers and ill befits any nation it is supreme hypocrisy for this one which used to be a paradigm of freedom and inherent human rights.Although I will admit that throttling a child in the womb by abortion negates the only way that God has of sending souls into the world and thus spiritually is wrong,if all the senator's wives were raped, the senate would pass an abortion rights bill in three days, that is, it is the mother's primary right to make that decision not yours nor mine nor anyone who deigns to speak from a pulpit.To address your second issue, executed evil criminals remain earthbound in spirit after death just as evil as they were in the body but now free to do mischief and worse but now unrestrained.If their minds and hearts could be shifted to first repent and then accept Jesus or Allah or Buddah then I would have less objection to capital punishment.I have a friend who was raped and she kept the baby - that girl grew up to be a most beautiful woman and her mother doesn't know what she do without her. the circumstances of her getting pregnant was awful but the child was not for sure. AND sometimes only being on death row will make a prisoner consider their eternity- hey, what's with allah and buddah - they are dead and buried? I believe that those who have asked forgiveness of Jesus and have been made new, born again is what the NT says.... to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Where we differ is that you think they have many sources. Like the WICCANS who believe there are "good witches and bad witches" and that they get their powers from God. That is not only deceitful but dangerous. God doesn't say that satan is bad but some other departed spirits are good. He doesn't say we come back again. He does tell us much about demons who rebeled with satan and how they were cast out and are making havoc on earth today.Praying for people to have ears to hear and eyes to see as only the truth will set them free - I take the time and make the comments because I would want someone to do the same for me if I were walking in a dangerous spot or towards distruction rather than away from it.
