The Senate Vote On Cloture Tells You A Lot

The Senate voted on Saturday evening for cloture on the "Harry Reid" 2,000 page healthcare bill in order to bring it to the floor for discussion. The bill is essentially the same as it was originally before the August recess when all the Tea-Parties were held in protest of it. Only now, instead of l,l00+pages, it now has 2,000+ pages. Enough to assure any one that it is highly unlikely that any member of the Senate will read it all, even Reid himself. My large print bible has only 1,536 pages just counting the scripture pages from Genesis 1 through Revelation 22. And it takes approximately 36 hours reading time to read it through.

And yet, they expect the voters to be happy without having a clue of all that is in it. And all the Democrats voted for cloture and including the two independents, Joe Lieberman of Connecticut and Sanders of Vermont. None can say for sure that they know everything in it, yet they knew the Republicans were against it and that was sufficient for them to vote for it. There were a number of the Democrats who specifically said they were opposed to it as it now stands yet they did not demand it be fixed before putting it on the floor. The excuse here is that they only wanted it put up for discussion and amending. It would have been much easier for them to demand it to be amended before it reached the floor than afterward.

I hope all voters will remember that every Democratic Senator voted for cloture as did independents Lieberman and Sanders. And I hope that all voters will remember that every Republican voted against it, including those who are too liberal to warrant the name Republican, even Snowe, from Maine.

Whatever condition the bill is in when it finally passes, and it will, they will see to that. Obama and his coolies will fatten every hold out's pork barrel with voter taxes in order to assure their vote as he did with Cao in the House. When it passes, it will become a monster and embarrass each of those who voted for it.It will raise taxes on everything, cause the economy to recede further and put more people out of work and into soup lines. The really bad part of it will not show up until 2013, but the taxes and fines will take effect sooner. So remember your congressmen who have promoted this mess when they come up for re-election. And remember those who fought it. To see the stats on the vote Click the link below:

In business if you fail you lose money and your business. In politics if you fail you get reelected. Chris Dodd and Barney Frank come to mind. Nice article and i wish it was fiction.

Thanks for reading and commenting Jim, you named two who should never have been elected in the first time, especially the last time, or any times in between.

I too wish this were fiction. Good article and good thing dinner is a ways off today or I might not eat. They are elected BY THE PEOPLE - how come they all need hearing aids. Don't they have friends and relatives they love that will be effected by this even though they will not? VOTE - keep shouting, brother! Marijo

Thank you Marijo for your comments. I am going to try and keep up with every congressional vote from now to 2012, if I live that long, and keep them before the public.

Mark Twain(who apparently didn't know about the mafia)said that politicians are America's

only native class of criminals.

My 95 year old Jewish Grandmother would always call me on election day to ask who I was planning to vote for and then always admonished me with;"Don't vote, it only encourages them!"

You should be elected to lead a southern torch carrying mob to the Senate(forget about those worse than silly teabags).

If lieberman had a bolt in his neck the villagers would chase him!

Thanks Paul, I think. Yoiur Grandmothr was an intelligent lady...what happened? teehee. I don't carry torches. If I can't do anything while sitting on my derrière, I usually just don't do it. And, I just can't abide tea! brrr. Say, that may be why people are chasing me. I just had a big cyst taken off my back neck, right side and a skin cancer off the other side. Both took about 4 stitches (sutures) each. No wonder, I thought I was simply becoming a celebrity or something. Thanks for alerting me.

I am trapped in a useless body that also forces much sitting on my derrière.

Grandma's raw intellect has been distilled like fine brandy cognac into me directly.(did you finally admit that Jesus pointed to God but his Christian followers just stared at his finger and worshipped him directly as God?;"Holy Mary MOTHER OF GOD...)

It's

essential to rethink yourself when you are (publically) proved wrong and you must get much practice making frequent southern gentility apologies with much aplomb, by now!

Glad you had the pain in the neck removed(No, not me!)

Much affection old buddy; Yes, you are much older than I but how did you know?

Paul, friend, I am older than anybody! But, I've enjoyed a lot of my life, with lots of thanks to my Jewish friends, many of whom are now gone. (I do question the veracity of your second line above)

Go take a look at my new website at "hebronics(dot)org(slash)Index(dot)html" and be sure to look at the WW2 memorial pages and my shopping mall. It's a three pronged site. I still have some polishing to do on it.
