In part one of our presenting evidence for God's existence it concerned the universe and this planet earth. We also discussed the necessary role of water in the human body, and it's characteristics. In this new part, we will delve a little further into the earth's condition to maintain this health giving fluid for the use of all life and then venture into certain aspects of the human body.

One major difference in this, privileged, planet we learned was that it is the only one yet known to have an abundance of water. And, to show that there is evidence of intelligent design rather than just that we have water, just consider for a moment, the water purification system on a global scale which is in place. They tell me that 97% of our water is our oceans. That sounds logical to me but just 3% seems like a very small amount left for us. Just kidding. But think about this, as our rivers and streams empty into our oceans, they carry various pollutants, salt and other stuff. Salty water is unsafe for human consumption except for very small amounts.

But water, which is so necessary for our life and health, just happens(?) to have the necessary levels for freezing and evaporating that it evaporates especially during warm temperatures and when it is in vapor molecules. It becomes lighter than sea level air and therefore it rises from the ocean, forms clouds as it begins to cool slightly. But it keeps rising, carried to almost every point on the earth by varying winds and as it rises to much cooler temperatures, it condenses and falls back to earth in the form of rain. Only the water evaporates into the air. None of the pollutants go with the vapor so, once again the water is pure and safe for plants and animals. However, with the pollutants in the air, some of them are carried in the rain water back to earth. But an additional purifying takes place as the water flows through underground veins and/or over stony or sandy bottomed streams and the pollutants are soon cleansed from the water. A water purification system of massive size which operates well by the natural laws that have been emplaced for this planet.

Another amazing factor of water is that when it freezes at 32 degrees Fahrenheit, again it becomes lighter than when a liquid so it freezes from the top downward. This allows fish and other aquatic life to survive underneath the solid top in lakes and areas of ocean which freeze. There are areas of the oceans which flow, as a stream, causing somewhat of a consistency in temperatures which have a strong influence upon or atmosphere. Naturalists and skeptics are quick to tell us that all these things are simply directed by the laws of nature and do not require supernatural assistance. True. But just why are such laws in place to begin with? There is nothing whatsoever that necessitates or infers that, should a "singularity" explode from nothing and create all of this extreme universe, that there should be any laws, rules or anything else to cause such order and systems to have been formed.

Now, let us discuss briefly a most amazing piece of matter, found in many animals with varying degrees of size and efficiency, all of which are so complex as to be virtually incomprehensible. But even more so, that of the human...the brain. The human brain is built basically like other animals but is, on average about three times the size of other animals of equal body weight. The human brain is truly astonishing in it's capabilities. It is the brain where your planning, your temperament, and your self control are formed. It is capable of processing over a million messages per second, I am told. Then, it filters those messages and disregards those not associated with whatever you are concentrating on. And not only that, it can file those messages away into a memory bank for future consideration. It is constantly sending you messages from the ingrown toenail to the itchy scalp sensation. Many you do not even consider. For instance, as I type this article, I am virtually oblivious of my fingers as they touch the keyboard but never the less, the brain is receiving each of those minute feelings. Just let key be a little sticky and I recognize it immediately. And my old brain doesn't work like it used to.

Some of the brain's performances are almost magical. Referring again to typing this article. My mind is concentrating on the message, yet my fingers hit the keys they are supposed to (most of the time) without my really giving them any thought. Almost ever tiny point of the body has nerve endings which can pick up pain when injured in any way and give it instantly to the brain for help. Touch a hot pan and see just how fast the brain tells you to remove that finger. And above all, human brains are unlike other animals in that they are capable of reasoning (unless you are a liberal). Many animals are endowed with instinct which controls their actions, and even though humans have certain instincts from birth, the ability to reason things out and realize rewards or consequences from certain actions will result, etc., are almost solely possessed by the human brain.

The brain matter (or material) is quite fragile and delicate. It has a huge amount of protective factors but can still be injured by hard blows to the head, or by strokes, tumors or an aneurysm. It is covered by a hard and strong bone, it is suspended in cerebrospinal fluid and it is protected from the bloodstream by a "blood-brain barrier". The functioning of the brain is complex to the degree that I will simply allow someone else to explain it.

The primary reason for discussing these extraordinary living things with all of the orderly and perfectly performing items which exist, is simply there is no rational reason for them to have occurred without intelligent design.

It still amazes me that I could have seen this all in training to become an RN and still stubbornly cling to the atheism I was professing then. Marijo

Few ever do study and learn of all these marvels. I commend you for doing so, and I thank you for reading and commenting.

The water cycle is hardly or scant proof that God prevails and dominates;although the brain is the single most complicated structure in the universe,it has burnt people at the stake for disagreeing with it throughout history;should that happen, here,I hope that you'll pour water on me!

Another good read, Joel. The brain is amazing! Surely not developed from a random event. Is there a part three coming?
