U.S. Voters First Priority Should Be To Get Our Priorities Straight

I read a lot. I'm fortunate, I'm retired and I have time to read and I love to do thatso I read a lot. But of late, I'm sure not happy with what I read. I cannot believe what is happening before my eyes in this presidential election year. There is no sense in trying to camouflage my own stand. Any who have read my articles know that religiously, I am a conservative Christian who believes in the inerrant word of God, the Holy Bible, and there is no other God than Jehovah. In politics, I am the same, very conservative philosophically. And I make no apologies for either. I believe with all my heart that man has the God given right, as well as the constitutional right, to believe what he will, whether it be right or wrong. And that applies to both religion and politics. I believe that I have the right (politically correct or not) to say that you are wrong in your religion or your politics, and you have the right to tell me the same. But for the last decade or so, I have seen hatred and intolerance grow and grow to the point that it is causing a disastrous division among the people of America. We have enough world troubles. We do not need such division amongst ourselves. The wise saying of Jesus Christ has become a household phrase "And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:" (Matthew 12:25)

This nation is now, not only divided against itself, but it is divided into splinters, each against the others. There is no need for this. Our very first priority should be to get back togetheryet we are swiftly getting farther and farther apart. Our best example of nonsense is happening at this moment. Our presidential election. This year will see many millions of dollars spent in order to spread hate one against another. Many hungry children could be fed and cared for on that much money. Not only have we cursed and criticized the opposite political party to that of our choosing, but it has become our first priority to destroy the reputation and character of their candidate, regardless of their qualifications or lack thereof. And this year we see the same thing within the Democratic party. Our three leading candidates have no real qualifications. One is popular because of his color and his speaking ability. One has no call to fame except she is a woman. A former president's wife. And the third is a veteran and was held prisoner by the enemy. Never mind that they all are lacking in many ways. Two of them are advocates of murdering over thirty children every hour, 24/7. The other feels that the states should have the right to do that. Two are advocates of special benefits for homosexuals, the other is silent on the matter.

Now seeing the similarities in these three candidates, we still choose to hate at least two of them and many hate all three. Neither deserves our hatred, but neither deserves our vote. It is past time for this nation to do something drastic and let the majority be heard. The majority claims to be Christians. It is time for us to vote as Christians should, all together. We need to stand up for the lives of the innocent unborn children. We need to speak out against those things that are immoral or anti-Christian. We should vote for those who are proponents of moral and ethical values. We desperately need to vote for those who advocate freedom of religion, rather than freedom from religion. We need to vote for those who allow freedom of speech, not only in private but also in public and who renounce the "political correctness" of not speaking of God, Jesus or the Holy Bible.

Why do I say that the three leading candidates do not deserve our votes? We'll start with Obama. Obama is loaded with reasons. First, but not foremosthe has very little experience, certainly not enough to manage the presidency during this world crisis period. He has friends and supporters who are anti-American, who burn with hatred towards the nation, towards authority and/or whites. Who?

Jeremiah Wright (the God Damn America, pastor/friend for 20years), Louis Farrakhan, George Soros, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, and most of the Islamic radicals. Ted Kennedy, Jimmy Carter and many more such. Something is amiss when that many people who are carrying chips on their shoulders towards America, get behind a presidential candidate. And something else is amiss when a presidential candidate tries to defend them and their actions.

Hillary. Again little pertinent experience. One who has proven she is incapable of serving as president. Her efforts to force feed Americans with an enormous healthcare plan while her husband was serving as president, that would have bankrupted the nation. This caused her husband to lose the Democratic control of the congress. One whose temperament caused the White House domestic staff to celebrate upon her leaving. Who, along with her husband, virtually emptied the White House upon their leaving. The one who could not find some subpoenaed real estate deailing records for approximately two years, yet when finally found, were in her White House office files.

McCain: John McCain is fairly clean other than he is a Democrat in Republican clothing. He has voted with the Democrats on issues about as often as with the Republicans. I commend him for his military service and am thankful that he survived the harrowing experience as a prisoner. But with that said, this alone does not qualify one for the presidency. And as with John Kerry, I do not think it should be an influence. He, similar to me, is too old to undertake four years with the extreme pressure which must come with that position. He may be strong enough to fulfill the term, but he may not. He does not stand for those things that the Republican party has been in the past and I am totally surprised that he was able to overcome those more conservative.

Our nation is, and has been for 2 decades, under attack by the most formidable foe in our history. And as in a game of chess, the wrong move can destroy this country. It is an enemy who disallows dialogue. They want us dead and that is not negotiable, for them or for us. We desperately need a president at this time who will approach this matter with calm resolve and make no wrong moves. It is my heartfelt belief that neither of the above is capable of threading this small needle day after day and getting the job done. I cannot imagine any person wanting the responsibility. It is highly likely, that whoever is president for the next 4 years will go out in disgrace, far worse than George Bush. I say that for more than one reason. But the main reason is that they will take office with a nation filled with hate for one another, for him and for the office. G.W. Bush inherited such a problem but not nearly as bad as it will be after this election. I promise everyone. People are screaming about the economy now. Check it out about January 2010. People are screaming about the war in Iraq. Check that out about January 2010. People are concerned about racism. Check it out about January 2010.

I could end my doomsday essay here and allow you to lose sleep. I didn't want to cause that, so I'll tell you what to do. Determine that we must all do something now before it is too late. Stop hating those with whom you differ and challenge the future. I've already written an article in an attempt to promote Alan Keyes. I seriously doubt that Keyes could do many of the things he wants to accomplish as president, but folks, he has his head on straight and he plans to try. If he could get the backing and win the White House, and especially if he could gain control of congress along with it, I do honestly believe we would see a new dawn. But just as importantly, those of us who profess to be Christians need to be one in everything we do, and right now it is promoting one who has our values.

And, yes, I believe in prayer and if we all add our prayers and supplications to God in addition to our efforts, we can accomplish much. May God continue to bless America.
